VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Retired Senior Volunteer Program
"With the holidays quickly approaching, volunteering through the Experience. Works Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is the perfect gift that keeps on giving. It’s also an opportunity for older individuals to stay engaged, while making a difference in their communities year-round.

Experience Works operates the Corporation of National and Community Service funded program in St Lucie County. A part of Senior Corps, RSVP is America’s largest volunteer network for people 55 and older, with more than 300,000 volunteers impacting communities nationwide. RSVP volunteers choose where they want to volunteer, along with the type of work and number of hours. They also receive insurance for the time they are volunteering and are recognized for their service through annual volunteer appreciation luncheons.

The Kane Center host 2 free monthly caregiver support groups held on the third Wednesday of each month. Open to anyone who is caring for a frail senior. No RSVP is required, unless you will need free respite care for your senior loved one while you attend the session. Be a Santa to a Senior Program Kick Off Event
at Butterfield's Pharmacy SLW, 10AM. ""The annual Be a Santa to a Senior program spreads holiday cheer to lonely or financially challenged seniors residing in St Lucie County. Many seniors are overlooked during the holidays and many do not have family close by. Home Instead Senior Care along with the Council on Aging, Butterfield's Pharmacy, Seacoast Bank, WellMed and the St Lucie County Property Appraisers Office understand the reason for the season. Together, we will work with the community schools and businesses by raising awareness and spreading seeds of love and compassion to our aging community."
