Become a Faerie Forrest Sponsor - Soft Opening at the Port St Lucie Botanical Gardens
1PM - 3PM. "Faeries are mysterious and magical creatures (ask any child!) They’re selective and persnickety. After perusing the entire Treasure Coast, the PSL Botanical Gardens is pleased to acknowledge the faeries’ decision to soon call Port St Lucie home!

The faeries have selected a very special area within the PSL Botanical Gardens to call their own. Flitting among the ancient oaks, the faeries invite all children (young and old) to explore and commune. How many faeries can you spot among the trees? Could you name them? Have a favorite?

The Faerie Forrest will be a passive, open exploration area, not a playground. Imagination and a sense of magic is required.

Sponsorship opportunities for Faerie Faenatics, including a corporate sponsorship, are available for a limited time as outlined below. Are you interested in becoming a Faerie Faenatic or a Corporate Sponsor?" Opportunities range from $100 - $10,000. For more Information call Joleen today at 772-337-1959. www.facebook.com . JUNE 1, 2019

The Little Mermaid at Sunrise Theatre Fort Pierce, 7PM - 9:30PM
""The Little Mermaid" (Danish: Den lille havfrue) is a fairy tale written by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen about a young mermaid who is willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a mermaid to gain a human soul. Join us as we bring to stage this timeless tale of love, will, and sacrifice.

Between two worlds, land and sea, follow the story of a mermaid princess torn between wanting to live a human life and stay in the sea to fulfill her father’s wishes. She is a curious girl with an open mind to what lies beyond the waters edge.  One evening a storm causes a shipwreck and the Little Mermaid rescues a fallen Prince and brings him to shore, saving his life and leaving her with the uncontrollable urge to experience his world. On land she could walk on two feet, perhaps fall in love, and live a life of real purpose.

Gravitated by her selfish desires, and without her father’s knowledge, she seeks out the magic of the Sea Witch. The Sea Witch grants the mermaid’s wish for only the temporary cost of her voice and a deadline to have the Prince fall in love with her. She has just 3 days to convince the prince to marry her, but unbeknownst to the Little Mermaid the Sea Witch has a darker plan. A plan to rule the Seas. When the Little Mermaid fails to fall in love, she will force King Triton to relinquish his power of the Sea to save his daughter. She sends a seductress, Vanessa, to woo the Prince and marry him before the Little Mermaid has the chance.

Will the Little Mermaid be banished as other lost souls? Will the Sea Witch win power over the Sea? Will good overpower evil? Join us for the perfect family night out as we bring to stage this classic tale in a new contemporary ballet!" Tickets are $25 - $30. "The Environmental Studies Council hosts two sea turtle nesting walks at the Environmental Studies Center each summer. Join us at the Center for an educational lecture, while our scouts patrol the beach looking for a nesting loggerhead sea turtle. Once a turtle has been spotted, participants will drive to the beach to watch her nest.

Attire: Mosquitoes and gnats can be numerous on the beach at night, so long pants and a long sleeve shirt are highly recommended. Dark clothes are preferred. We may have to walk a ways on the beach, so comfortable walking shoes are also recommended.

Flashlights and flash photography are NOT permitted on the beach. We will not be returning to the Center, so please bring only what you can carry on the beach.

Because we can't predict when a turtle is going to lay her eggs, we can't guarantee that your group will see a turtle, but our team of biologists will do their best to locate one each night.

Rain or shine! Event time end depends on when/if a sea turtle is spotted. Space is limited! To book your turtle walk, click here . Browse SupportStLucieCounty.com for more events. 2900 NE Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach

Save the date! "A celebration that will give all residents a chance to be among the first to experience the bridge first-hand. The end of the construction for the Crosstown Parkway Extension Project marks a new beginning for the City of Port St. Lucie. City leaders have worked diligently since 1980 to make this corridor a reality. City staff is planning a fun event on the new bridge that will allow the entire community to come together to celebrate this significant event, decades in the making.

Potential activities for the Community Celebration and Block Party include: food trucks, live music, kids zone, parade, ribbon cutting ceremony, classic car show and fireworks show.

The Crosstown Parkway Extension Project will provide Port St. Lucie’s third bridge crossing over the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, connecting the existing Crosstown Parkway from Manth Lane to U.S. 1. The project extends along the existing West Virginia Drive, crossing over the North Fork of the St. Lucie River and connecting into U.S. 1 at Village Green Drive. The project is approximately two miles with the bridge being approximately 4,000 feet. The six- lane divided highway and bridge will serve as a transportation alternative to include accommodations for automobile, bicycle, pedestrian and public transit, along with providing a new emergency evacuation route over the river." - cityofpsl.com

Become a Faerie Forrest Sponsor - Full Media Opening at the Port St Lucie Botanical Gardens
12PM - 2PM. (Date subject to change).
