Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event at the City of Port St Lucie Public Works
Department, 8AM - 12PM. "It’s time for residents to start collecting all their waste that isn’t allowed in regular curbside pickup in order to get ready for the City’s annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event. This event makes it easy for residents to get rid of their unwanted household chemicals and hazardous waste by providing a convenient place and time where the materials can be handed over to experts, free of charge, for proper disposal. Residents do not even need to leave their cars, they simply drive up to the drop off location, and volunteers will help unload any items for disposal.

Items that will be accepted include: ammunition, automotive fluids, batteries, bug sprays, computers and electronics, drain cleaners, fluorescent light bulbs and tubes, fuels, herbicides, insecticides, lighter fluid, mercury thermometers, oil-based paint, propane tanks that are 20 pounds or less, prescription drugs, solvents and thinners and thermostats.

Please do not bring these items: bio-hazard waste, containers more than 5 gallons, explosives, flares, sharps and tires. Also, please do not bring water-based or latex paint, as that can be placed by the curb for pickup if it is properly dried out, such as adding equal parts of kitty litter to it. Mr. Stud Finder Charity Auction 2019 at Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa, 6PM - 9PM
Hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Martin County. "Habitat for Humanity of Martin County has served our community for the past 30 years, partnering with over 126 families who live, work and play in Martin County, and are now proud homeowners. Our families work side by side with volunteers to build their own homes, and, in return, we provide them with an interest free mortgage. We offer a hand up, not a hand out.

Every year, the women of our community come together to not only completely build a Habitat home by themselves, but also raise the funds necessary to build that house, $105,000 for the hard construction costs.

Mr. Stud Finder is a live auction led by a professional auctioneer whereby all funds raised go directly to our Women Build Home. Each year, this event has gotten larger and larger. Prestigious businessmen and esteemed professionals donate their time and talents to benefit the Habitat for Humanity Women Build Program. Some of the auction packages in the past included rounds of golf, tennis lessons, river tours, gourmet dinner from a personal chef, artwork from local artist and a personal meet and greet with Burt Reynolds. Featuring a cocktail reception with both silent and live auctions." https://goo.gl/MftAqm . Browse SupportStLucieCounty.com for more. 3793 NE Ocean Blvd, Jensen Beach

The Little Mermaid at Sunrise Theatre Fort Pierce, 7PM - 9:30PM
""The Little Mermaid" (Danish: Den lille havfrue) is a fairy tale written by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen about a young mermaid who is willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a mermaid to gain a human soul. Join us as we bring to stage this timeless tale of love, will, and sacrifice.

Between two worlds, land and sea, follow the story of a mermaid princess torn between wanting to live a human life and stay in the sea to fulfill her father’s wishes. She is a curious girl with an open mind to what lies beyond the waters edge.  One evening a storm causes a shipwreck and the Little Mermaid rescues a fallen Prince and brings him to shore, saving his life and leaving her with the uncontrollable urge to experience his world. On land she could walk on two feet, perhaps fall in love, and live a life of real purpose.

Gravitated by her selfish desires, and without her father’s knowledge, she seeks out the magic of the Sea Witch. The Sea Witch grants the mermaid’s wish for only the temporary cost of her voice and a deadline to have the Prince fall in love with her. She has just 3 days to convince the prince to marry her, but unbeknownst to the Little Mermaid the Sea Witch has a darker plan. A plan to rule the Seas. When the Little Mermaid fails to fall in love, she will force King Triton to relinquish his power of the Sea to save his daughter. She sends a seductress, Vanessa, to woo the Prince and marry him before the Little Mermaid has the chance.

Will the Little Mermaid be banished as other lost souls? Will the Sea Witch win power over the Sea? Will good overpower evil? Join us for the perfect family night out as we bring to stage this classic tale in a new contemporary ballet!" Tickets are $25 - $30.
