10AM – 12PM. Day of registration begins at 10AM. Swim lesson at 11AM. “We are proud to be a host site again this year for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson. At this event, participants will receive a free, 30-minute swim lesson and valuable information about drowning prevention. As an incentive for participation, Sailfish Splash Waterpark is offering all participants, ages 1 to 12, a certificate of completion and a coupon for 30% off admission to Sailfish Splash Waterpark for the day of the event. Additionally, following the World's Largest Swimming Lesson , participants will receive a 20% discount on swimming lessons for the rest of the available summer sessions.

at the St Lucie County Aquarium, 8:30AM - 10AM. For ages 6+. "Are you interested in local marine life? Come to the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit and discover some of the amazing animals that live in the seagrass beds of the Indian River Lagoon. We’ll start out with a brief presentation inside the Aquarium, followed by a seine-netting lesson. Then we will enter the water and collect animals in the same manner as Smithsonian scientists and aquarists! All participants must wear clothes that can get wet and water shoes with heel straps."

Cost includes Aquarium admission during regular hours (12PM - 4PM) for the rest of the day. Nonmembers: $6 for adults, $5 for children. Members: $5 for adults, $4 for children. Polychaete Discovery Day at the Smithsonian Marine Station and Ecosystems Exhibit
10AM - 2PM. "This program coincides with our monthly Free Admission Tuesday, where you can visit the Aquarium for free! July 2nd is International Polychaete Day! There are more than 10,000 species of polychaetes (marine worms) around the world, from some of the coldest marine environments in the world to some of the hottest near hydro-thermal vents, from the shallowest waters to the bottom of the Challenger Deep, the deepest known spot on Earth. They’re an incredibly diverse group of animals that are sometimes known as bristleworms.

During Polychaete Discovery Day, kids can participate in a fun mock “worm dissection” with Smithsonian educators using delicious gummy worms at 11:30AM, 12PM or 12:30PM and then eat their worms once they’re finished. Then, meet a real scientist from the Smithsonian Marine Station who studies polychaetes and see some live polychaetes for yourself while learning what makes these animals so unique."
